Whirlwind Weekend...

Another weekend closes, much too soon for my taste :)  One thing God has made apparent to me is how blessed I am to have the husband I have.  When you've been together for as long as we have (17 yrs married, nearly 20 altogether) you tend to take each other for granted.  I know I have.  Yet I was sitting out on my little deck doing some sadly neglected journaling when he came out to check on me and as I looked over at him my heart just filled with love and a healthy dose of the "tingles."  *smirk*  It's nice to know he still does it for me!  Anyway, he looked at me and said, "what?" and I said, "Nothing, I'm just counting my blessings and you are at the top."  I think I surprised him!  He knew I was having a rough afternoon and was feeling a little sorry for myself (an indulgence that thankfully didn't last) and brought me a little cheese and cracker snack to cheer me up.  He's just the sweetest man!  I don't know why God has blessed me so but I'm extremely grateful He has!

My niece graduated from college today.  We had a nice party for her at a relative's house in Scarborough and my MIL and middle SIL flew in from FL for a nice long weekend.  The MIL is here for the summer, YAY!  Nate came down with the flu yesterday but we still went to see the fam.  All sickness broke loose last night when we came home though.  He was feverish and achy and when I went to kiss and hug him good night he vomited all over my hair and shoulder!  Poor poor little tyke - he was so miserable :(  His fever broke sometime in the wee hours after we gave him anther dose of Motrin.  He's still under the weather but I'm hopeful he'll be better in the morning.  I would like to have him see his Auntie one more time before she heads back to FL.

Off to bed I go...need to keep this one short!  Will post more soon!

Have a safe and happy week!

What Today Should Be...

Happy 5th Birthday to my darling little "O" - in my mind we're throwing you a huge party with tons of presents, lots of your favorite food and cake with ice cream.  I picture dozens of balloons, a bouncy house or two, games, friends and family gathered from near and far to celebrate the miracle of your birthday.  I picture you and your brother rough housing outside with cousin B and jostling for the best piece of cake.  I picture my dear wonderful hubby sitting beside me, holding my hand, smiling with absolute joy as he whispers, "isn't it a miracle?"  It's all there, my darling little man, in my mind's eye it's the best birthday party ever.

I miss you and love you with all my heart - Happy Birthday, Owen.

Love,
Mom
