It hardly seems like spring at all around here. Granted the snow is finally melting but we've had the weirdest weather! Huge blustery gusty winds and then big fluffy chunks of snow that melt within a day of falling. I had been hoping to see some spring buds out but no such luck yet. Maybe if this crud ever completely melts, I'll be able to see some perky spring flowers. LD loves it. It's finally warm enough for him to go outside and play. He's been driving his wagon up and down the driveway and running it into the melting snowbanks. He was out helping Grampa the other day sweep the driveway. Of course the broom was too big for him!
I'm heading off to register my beautiful new car tomorrow. We're opting for vanity plates - which I've never had. I'm still trying to come up with a suitable moniker for her. I'm drawn to Sylvie but not committed to it yet.
On the sticks I have several projects going. I ordered some beautiful Rowan Big Wool in the Flirty colorway for a French Girl Fantine that I'm going to knit for my sister as a late birthday present. She's home from college on May 9th so I have plenty of time. Also, I'm still working away on the socks and, just recently started, a baby blanket with lacey edging made with Debbie Mumm by JoAnn in Robin's Egg Blue. Not so sure about this yarn...it pulls and wrinkles up when held with any kind of tension. At least it's a blanket it's being used for! I wanted something simple to try doing lace work. On the hook I have yet another cotton Granny Square dishcloth. I still intend to do that tote bag I went on about several posts ago. Also I knit and felted a hot pink heart for a girlfriend. Now I'm debating on whether I should invest in some needle felting tools so I can needle felt a design in the heart. I probably will as the tote bag pattern suggests needle felting an appliqué.
Mc'Ds is the usual mix of drama and actual work. It's been getting busier lately so the drama has taken a back seat to work. I like it this way better. The whole night isn't devoted to who's doing who anymore! I think I'm making some good friends despite the drama involved.
Got to run...hubby's cleaning up LD's daily mess and I'd love to just sit with him and watch some DVR'd shows and hold hands - awwwww!!!!
Happy Knitting!
